You Rang My Lord!

This week, Year 5 had a wonderful time developing their history skills and learning what life was like for the servants at Audley End. They began the day by entering into the life of s servant.

Not only did they experience what it was like to carry out the different tasks, such as floor scrubbing, empting the chamber pots and cleaning the silver, they were also given the opportunity to think about the different roles appointed to boys and girls.

In the afternoon, we continued to develop our understanding of seasonality by visiting the walled gardens. Not only did we discover what food was ready for harvesting at the  moment, but what types of foods they were currently planting for future consumption.

Audley End is a wonderful place to spend time at as it allows visitors to get close to history. They have many interesting and engaging activities planned for the next few months. If you are interested in making a family visit, the link below may be of interest to you.
