Pineapples

In the mid 1700s, the pineapple was considered to be a sign of great wealth and importance. They could cost up to £6,000 in today's money to produce. There is evidence that the Radcliffe family built hot houses to grow their own pineapples.

We developed our pattern cutting and sewing skills by making felt pineapples for our Christmas tree.
