In science we have been learning about how shadows are formed. We made shadow puppets based on the parable of Jesus in the temple. We investigated what happened to the size of the shadow when the puppet was moved closer or further away to the light.

Year 1 celebrated World Book Day by coming dressed as their favourite character from any Julia Donaldson book. They brought their favourite books into school and they enjoyed sharing their books with their friends and talking about which books were their favourite ones and why.

Mother’s Day Service - For Mother’s Day, we explored and investigated colour mixing by making our Mummy’s skin tone. We painted a picture of our Mummies using the paint we made ourselves. We participated in the Mother’s Day service at Holy Saviour church with the whole school and were very proud to show off our artwork!

Our pupils have been involved in new and exciting learning through our Enrichment Programme.

Forest schools sessions are run on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoons as part of the Enrichment program. Here, out of the classroom setting, the children develop their personal, social and emotional skills.
Year 2 visit to St Albans Cathedral

Year 2 visited St Albans Cathedral and explored Christian signs and symbols. They also created a clay tile with their favourite symbol.

The whole school are focussing on Epiphany for the start of this term and we all enjoyed a service at Holy Saviour Church led by Father Ian on this theme. Year 4 talked about the gifts and read prayers about giving. We have a display in the front foyer too.

The children were investigating collage and exploring overlapping. They enjoyed creating "The Foxes of the Forest".
